I plan to bring valuable knowledge and technical advisory here in the future. This starts now. There's nothing that frustrates me more than when I'm working on the computer hitting num lock. I don't think the button should be there. I'll tell ya, I've almost pried that key out of my laptop. Here is the fix.
On a Windows computer, you can use the Registry Editor. Here are the
steps:
Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.
Type "regedit" (without quotes) and press Enter.
Navigate to the following key: HKEY_USERS.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Keyboard
Double-click the "InitialKeyboardIndicators" value.
Change the value data to "2" and click OK.
Close the Registry Editor and restart the computer for the changes to take effect.
Please note that editing the registry can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing, so make sure to back up your registry before making any changes.
Alternatively, you can use some third-party software like "SharpKeys" which can disable numlock. I am very reluctant to Note this... As you have to be very careful where you get these programs from Do this at your own risk.
